Recently I visited the MNAC in Barcelona and saw a gorgeous statue by Josep Llimona i Bruguera which heavily inspired this piece. I imagined the fabric this woman clutched to be a magical flow of water spilling over her hands and surrounding these women. It was fun to have a go at painting this piece and I tried a different technique of working in black and white first and then going into colour. I hope you like it and thanks for viewing!
